As global demand for high-quality power transformers continues to rise, Tata Group has announced a major investment of INR 56.2 billion in Telangana, India, to expand its CRGO core processing capacity. This investment will equip Tata Transmission and Distribution Systems (TTDI) with advanced processing facilities, boosting its annual capacity to 12,000 tons. Once completed, the plant will significantly strengthen India’s self-sufficiency in transformer core materials and reduce reliance on imports.
Tata’s decision reflects India’s broader push for domestic manufacturing and industrial independence. The new facility will not only meet growing demand in the Indian market but also supply competitive products for international customers—enhancing India’s position in the global power industry.
For DLS CRGO, this development underscores the accelerating global demand for premium CRGO electrical steel and highlights manufacturers’ continued commitment to innovation and technology investment in transformer production.
